Sometimes they look cool,
sometimes they're blistering fast,
sometimes they sound great,
they're tremendously useful,
they're immensely customizable to make them unique to your own personality,
they represent freedom of mobility,
they symbolize advancement of technology,
they project to the world how you want to be thought of,
they're fun.
Why is anyone into anything? Hobbies are all wastes of time and money in the end.
There's a lot of reasons to be interested in an automotive hobby.
Mine is mainly due to me being an engineer. I like to tinker, and understand how things work. Cars are fascinating in this regard.
The way I like to look at cars is this:
They're basically legos. You have infinite possibilities.Get the right ones together, put them in the right configuration, and you have whatever you want.

It really depends on the person. Some people like the mechanical engineering and technology that go into each vehicle, others like myself place the experience of driving above all else. There's nothing like cruising in your shitbox in the dead of night blasting tunes and enjoying the solitude.
