Are VW's built in Mexico really more unreliable than German

They had a lot of QC issues when they first moved production to Mexico, but nowadays they just break because of bad design, not bad QC.

I was suppost to buy a 2017 Tacoma stickshift offroad 4x4. I put a 500$ deposit. It came last week then I notice that it was build in Tijuana Mexico. I decide to move one and take a loss of 500$. I'm not buying that crap.
