Anyone else think that luxury sedans are a dying breed and luxury SUVs are the future? You have all these insane 500/600hp luxury SUVs now that are more comfy, more spacious, offer a higher seating position, and even safer.
>>
Yes, the entire auto industry thinks this. Hence all the new cuv/suv offerings

Must suck having a period twelve times a year

safer for the occupants. not so much for anyone in a smaller vehicle.

nobody needs a car that big

I think SUVs will be the future of everything. especially compact ones with higher ride heights.

Audi is going to sell more Q7's than A6's from this point on iirc

In North America? Absolutely. We have the space for it.
Even Bentley just came out with a Crossover and Tesla can't catch up with the new models unless they release their own (which they did).

>>16192993
Not an issue in Europe. Kinda an issue in North America (and especially in Onterrible with the horrible ornament placement blocking various sight points).

>>16192995
Nobody needs a car that goes faster than 85m or 130km. Agree or disagree?

>>16193012
This is unfortunately true in North America. Even limos are now starting to be Cad Escalades instead of Lincoln / Cadillac sedans.
>>
Cars are returning to the size sedans had before the 50s, I don't really see too much wrong about that since you'll still get to own a used 5-series in 15 years :^)
>>
>>16192995
That's not true though, the sedans are still safer, look at the crash test ratings.

I'm a H-H-H-H-HEART BRAKER

This is against walls and other shit. SUVs by virtual of their inertia (larger mass) will win in a head on collision against Sedans. However, I could also argue that sedans are better handling so would be theoretically safer since 1) they're not piloted by fucking crossover dribers and 2) muh weight distribution and ground hugging.
>>
>>16193249
>crash test ratings

You ever wonder why truck drivers are completely uninjured during head on collisions? It's because the cabin is so far above of the ground. The poor sap driving the sedan will just drive into the engine or sub-frame. Being elevated is generally safer

SUVs and semis are more dangerous than sedans because the higher chance of rollover. The heavier a vehicle is the more energy it has to absorb in it's structure in a crash. Your posts are based on soccer mom logic and not reality and actual statistics.
>>
Someone post the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Jeep Cherokee besides one another at a traffic light.
>>
>>16193333
Nice quads now go ahead and post some statistics about how dangerous semis are to their drivers in highway speed collisions

lol, nice meme logic. this might be true if you're driving some lifted SUV from the 80s but that simply doesn't happen in this day and age

Pick one. There's a reason they're called Rollover Utility Vehicles.

Checc'd.
This is true if you're running head on into a wall. I'm talking about head on collisions with other vehicles. Weight Wins.

Inertia is a property of matter!
(sorry. am hungover af)

1995 called. They want their car trends back.

Sedans are making a comeback. Hyundai Genesis just came out with 2 big rwd v8 sedans, Cadillac ct6, Lincoln Continental, BMW and Mercedes still making big cars.
>>
>>16193556
>Hyundai
They've always been about a decade behind. Cadillac, Lincoln, BMW and Mercedes only do it because they have to (muh heritage) but they also make SUVs, which outsell the sedans massively.

Not in the recently industrialized nations. In Mexico luxury SUVs and the like still have a stigma of being gussied up working class vehicles. Sedans are seen as more refined. They're more fun to drive too. People who by Escalades or Range Rovers over a E-Class or 5 series are seen as loud new money or trashy gaudy northerners attempting to be as flashy as possible for validation. China, now the largest car market prefers big sedans to SUVs too.
>>
>>16192973

If you're okay with driving a 5000lb land yacht of a sedan then you might as well drive a SUV. The SUV is more useful in the end.
>>
They're for bitches.
Sedans will always be cooler
>>
>>16193573
Escalade outsells the rest of the Cadillac lineup because its their best vehicle that they pay the most attention to.

On the flipside, the GL/S does not outsell the S-Class.
