Hey /o/, I'm buying my first car and my buddy wants to sell me his 1987 MR2 Supercharged. Only 120k miles.
Pic related.
What does /o/ think about MR2s?
prepare for maintenance
lots of it
Second worst engine setup to work on. Not a great first car. Buy a cheap sensible car and keep this for weekends and its not advisable to rely on an 87 supercharged motor that is prone to problems, and a fuck around to fix.

It's a mid-engined Corolla
The engine isn't even that stressed

Prepare for oversteer.
Lots of it.

/o/ approved, several anons own them, MR2 generals pop up often.

2nd. The Supercharged one is not known for reliability. He should get it if its a good deal, but also buy a Volvo 240 (89-93) to rely on.

He brought that on himself, the 2nd comment explains it. Not to mention all of that in the wet.
What's the going rate for one of these in Ameritardland.

What do you have to do?
>>16180530
honestly it's a great fucking car and I'd buy it in an heartbeat if I could
MR2's are fantastic.
But honestly seeing as it is your first time don't buy it cause you'll literally fucking die especially seeing as it's a turbo.
Or alternatively take it around the track and learn everything about this car and how to control it. And then drive like a 90 year old person in a rover on the road.

It's my second realistic dream car (first one being an MR2 too, the SW20)

>turbo
its supercharged, no turbolag to kick OP in the nut and snap oversteer him while he is on a wet ramp
>>16182332
instead you have instant boost on throttle which could be just as bad tb.h
>>16183872
Nope. Turbo's worse since it's harder to predict when it comes on boost so you can spin pretty easily. Supercharged is just linear power.
