Someone help me understand racing. I saw a video link in a thread Saturday night and watched a race but can't find anything about it anywhere. So what was that race? Why are there like 500 different organizations doing the same thing? Is there one central place to find out everything about every race event?
I only really care about normal car racing, gt I guess it's called. I liked watching all those modded Priuses and gt86s, but I like the higher end stuff as well and seeing them race side by side was awesome.

Found the one I watched Saturday, finally. It was a super gt race. Again, why so many organizations? How can I find the next super gt race?
Different organizations do different rulesets. NASCAR uses tube-frame, N/A V8 spec cars around an oval. NHRA does 1000ft in the shortest time possible. WRC takes the shells of hatchbacks, AWD converts them, widdbodies them, turbos them, and runs them through closed-off rural roads ranging from snowy mountain passes to dirt trails through forests. Etc. And then of course within most of them there's a dozen different classes.

But what about the gt races? I've seen like five orgs just in gt, not to mention the classes.
Is the racing season over now?

Please respond
GT300 is best. Super GT in general is all that matters.
