Why has Subaru never turboed their Flat-6 engines?
It could literally have Porsche and GTR tier killing performance
I wish they made an front-engine flat-6 STI supercar. A Subaru flavored GT-R.
Because muh rally car 4 cylinder
Also the SVX and XT bombed in sales
No one wanted 6 cylinder performance cars form them, no one

Thisssss
Head gaskets would blow harder than an expensive whore.

>Head gaskets would blow
Porsche does it. Why can't Subaru?
Didn't MCM put one in Supergramps?
>>16149453
Porsche has managed to develop flat engines that don't blow head gaskets.
Subaru does not have nearly the resources that Nissan and Porsche have. Plus a front-mounted flat 6 with all the requisite turbo gear would be atrocious. The STI and WRX already tend to understeer because there's a heavy lump waaaayyy forward of the front axles, imagine shoving that even further forward and adding even MORE weight. There's a reason why Porsche sticks them in RR and MR laid out cars and Nissan has a V6 that they shove all the way back in the engine bay.

Subaru doesn't have the "resources" excuse they once had. Subaru is no longer the "weird" niche brand, they are major players with great sales. They can afford to do stuff like this now.
I used to think Subaru was an Australian company .

Me too, because of those old Outback commercials
>>16149523
>heavy lump waaaayyy forward of the front axles
I thought the H4 was mounted behind the front axle like on the twins?
>There's a reason why Porsche sticks them in RR and MR
Can't Subaru do the same and just remove the rear seats?
>>16149450
It's not all their damn engines you Fucking casual.

All a flat 6 needs is 5-7PSI to be devastating.
250HP flat 6 + .5 bar = ~375HP, less after physics and reality happens
>>16149416
Subaru has been abusing pistons for years and they continue to just lay down and take it

>It could literally have Porsche and GTR tier killing performance
You may want to read up on the usage of the word "literally."
How fast would a FA25 twin-turbo BRZ with AWD be?
