as winter is approaching, i just realized my audi 1.8T is only blowing lukewarm air but not hot air
Also when i turn on the AC button then it will not blow warm air at all, just cold air, in order for it to be hot it has to have the ac compressor off.
What the fuck? i mean it IS heating it but not enough, what could be wrong?
cold ac works fine
Heater core?
Buy a car with a working heater. It'll be cheaper than repairing an Audi.

blend door could be stuck on the cold side or middle.

this, or it is not receiving signal.start by replacing your a/c control bezel, then the ecu, then the evaporator box.
I had to remove my heater core from my 2.8 b5 a4. Fixing it would cost more than reasonable. Expect $500-1000, from a speciality shop

do you think if i flush my cooling syste and heater core it could be fixed?
>>16149551
Honestly yeah. Flush heater core completly, buy those 5$kits. Worked for myshitbox
I had a similar problem in my 95 s10 but the a/c never worked. I was told to replace the thermostat. Is that retarded? Will it fix it?
this is an Audi heater core replacement

Fuck Audi
>>16149688
If the thermostat is stuck open yes.
But your car should have a temp gauge so that should be an easy diagnosis.

A 2.8 B5 is worth more in material than it is in car form.
Pieces of shit.
>>16150052
That's par for the course on most any semi modern car.
You should try flushing the heat exchanger with dishwasher tablets.

Top up your coolant

Assuming no air pockets in the cooling system then the heater core is clogged. Happens all the time on older vehicles. Audi's are a bit more likely to develop clogged cores and radiators because they like to use turbulators in the tubes to improve efficiency but that comes at the cost of easier blockage as they age. Sometimes aggressive backflushing will open the core back up but most of the time they need to be replaced.
