Ford F-150, 2008, 168,000 miles, supercrew cab, lariat, 5.4 engine,

Curious to know too.

I want that gen f150 in the future, but Im wondering why i dont see them around much by me. I always see newer or older f150s, so i wonder if they host lots of mechanical issues.

The 3 valve 4.6 is fine, just underpowered if you ever want to tow a camping trailer up the mountains.

Look for something with lower miles. 5.4 is an iffy motor. I've seen some go down after 100k, and some last well past 300k. My expedition has 330k, all the coil packs have been changed, it has a small (1qt - 4k miles) oil leak, and the rocker arms rattle, but it's still good. Full synthetic every 4k since new.
Like any other vehicle, proper maintenance + full synthetic oil = better vehicle.
