I recently got a check engine light on my 2002 audi and took it to autozone to have them scan it.
It read: p0411 - secondary air system leak
Anyway, after some quick, reading on google i found out this shit is for emissions.
Since where I live theres no emissions tests, should I just leave it like that or can it cause more harm?

find a way to defeat it so the check engine light goes off. sometimes you can just wire in a resistor where the sensor is and the cel can be cleared. then if something bad actually happens you know.
sure just dont drive with the windows closed... theres a reason exhaust leak is on most state's safety inspection.
There are write ups on how to fix it, it's a little carburetor looking thing behind the engine. I wrapped mine in heat tape and it worked as long as I had it

This is for the air injection not the exhaust. How would they even make an OBD2 monitor for exhaust leaks, have 20 carbon monoxide sensors along the system?

is it the combi valve? i found it but theres nothing visible wrong with it, other than the hose coming out of it was a little loose which i tightened yesterday but the CEL is still on

Best way to find the leak is drive you car underwater at a boat ramp, do a cold start so the air injection runs, then look for bubbles

It's the internals, they get dirty and causes it to malfunction. Does it make a high pitched whining noise on start up?

>check engine light
>audi
it means nothing.
Keep driving until something real actually breaks

YES, it did it HOWEVER when the CEL came out it STOPPED making that high pitched noise on cold start ups
