Beside some really really dumb quirky designs, it's a fun and comfy car that doesnt burn too much gas and looks pretty good in my humble opinion. theres even a manual option I'm pretty sure. go for it

He didn't have rod bearing failure I just asked him. Just his timing chain taking a shit.
His timing chain jumped teeth and bent a portion of it in the cover
>warranty
Traded it in after that. He got a focus st

Right. Go back to riding the bus kiddo

The most important thing is that you spend your money on something you like. I'm not a fan of the VW group, but if you are, go for it.

You know what cc stands for?

Cool Car.
>>
they're kinda cool

interiors always seem to smell like crayons, and it has a bit of a boaty ride

a friend of mine owns one and the doors already squeak and creek when you open them. Car isn't even 3 years old yet.

I will say though, i really fucking like the shape, especially the pillarless windows.
>>
>mfw my friend's jetta wagon now has 130k miles on it, bought it in like 2009 brand new

He's had zero issues with the car, so I'm not sure about this VAG meme. Then again, it's just the 2.5l 5 cylinder so I'm not sure how badly they can fuck that up. I dont think I can trust VAG turbos

EVs are the present and the past but not the future

Ethanol-fueled hybrids are going to blow those toys out of the water and you know it

Tesla today: Eco-conscious status symbol
Tesla tomorrow: Hoon machine for wealthy enthusiasts as everyone else putts around with battery-assisted alcohol engines fueled by carbon-neutral nanotech-produced ethanol and eletricity of the nuclear generated variety
>>
Im planning on buying one too
Had a ride once was pretty comfy
>>
>>16120252
It suffers from shitty modern car design with tiny windows and a tall beltline and pedestrian-safe front end and it's unreliable. You could get a used e350 instead.
>>
I'd say go for it but if you live in cold or icy climates watch out for that retarded window design. they automatically roll down like 1/4th of an inch just so you can open and close the doors.
>>
>>16119301
They look good. I mean that's all I got.

>>16119519

>they automatically roll down like 1/4th of an inch just so you can open and close the doors.

Most modern cars do that, so you're not trying to close a door against a big bubble of air in the car
>>
>>16124538
Most modern cars or luxury cars? I've driven a 2010 mercedes benz GL550, a 2015 Ford Expedition, 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium, 2015 Subaru Forester, 2013 Honda Accord, 2010 Volkswagen Golf, 2016 Nissan Altima and a 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 and none of them have ever rolled down a crack just so I can open the door.
>>
>>16119301
Don't buy one. Lease it if you really want one. Volkswagen service advisor here.

2.0T?

At 70k you WILL need an engine decarb, assuming the engine hasn't blown itself up by then. You'll also want to do a new timing chain tensioner around then.

If you get the DSG, do not skip the DSG service by even 10,000 miles - have had multiple transmission replacements due entirely to skipped DSG services.

You WILL be putting a new engine in between 100-120k, regardless of what you do - we have one regular customer with a CC @ 160k miles on his THIRD engine.

Are they nice looking cars? Absolutely. Comfy, stylish, etc. Get one if you're looking for a good lease in a car that looks well above its station and cost.

Do not under any circumstances get a CC with the 2.0T.
Now, if you find one with the VR6... slightly more reliable, but expensive to maintain.

I like mine. I wouldn't buy it new though. I'd take it over a civic any day(non Si).
>>
>>16119301
pre-facelift a best
>>
>>16120252

I owned a 2010 CC (2.0T, 6mt) for a while. I like VW manuals and the interior of VW cars that have some kind of sporting pretension - the slightly bolstered seats are really comfortable. The car is really quiet, visibility could've been better - mine didn't have any kind of backup camera.

The 2.0T engine has problems with the water pump. If you buy a car with a 2.0T engine, you will want to find out which part number the water pump has been replaced with - if it hasn't been replaced, then plan on getting it done.

There were some fit/finish issues I had, and they seemed more expensive than was reasonable - the gas filler lid piece stopped opening/latching, and replacing the thing that opened/latched was like $200.

I got rid of it after I moved houses. My new garage is small - I couldn't walk around the car with the garage door closed. You don't see many CCs on the road, but the ones I did see all seemed to be crappily modified. And the design started to become less distinct - yes, the CC is obviously a ripoff of the older CLS, but the newer Malibu and Sonata look a lot like it. I don't want to drive something that looks like a rental car.
