So far, not making sense.

this thing, its 300 dollars
>>16113658
You could make something better than that for a fraction of the price even if you have basic skills.

Yes, and? You didn't know this before going in, it's your own fault.
They (whoever, really) will take your money wherever they can. How are you surprised?

its not even that im getting conned, thats what these actually sell for and lots of people buy em at that price
that said I still feel cheated that I spent 300 dollars on a stick

Wait tik you get into american cars. Your shit classic came a fucked up door panel? Be prepared to go on ebay, where said door panel will be broken down into its components and each said component costing 100-200 dollars each.
(100 dollar door handle,200 for the body of the door panel, 50 for the bulb housing, etc)

I think I know what you mean

Delicious pricing.
>new accelerator pedal cost me $300
That's retarded, you should have gotten one of these

This is why I will never buy a project older than 1990. It's easier to haggle haggle boomer on a complete car than tryin to fix up your own.
Jesus those prices are frightening.
Glad I live in 'murrica where there's always a junkyard or some redneck with an overflowing backyard of "collectables" that I can scavange parts from.

Nah, 1979 is where it gets unrealistic for the average person, for example I work in fast food and can easily maintain a car from 1985 with parts from the jy and rockauto

Meh. The cost of owning a classic can be low if you know what you are doing and can do some mild fab work or know someone who can. I normally don't recommend anyone without a solid tool set and at minimum a carport own a classic as it will ruin the experience.
It is old, things are not made anymore and things will break. Supply is outweighed by demand in a lot of cases and as such pricing can be insane for what should be a cheap part. Never forget that this is a hobby and, like most hobbies, it is not cheap if you want to do it right.
