Do love taps like this damage cars?
I got hit like this a few hours ago and there was literally no visible damage so the guy and I parted ways and he apologized. But I'm a little cautious if there may be underlying damage although everything seems fine for now?

Were you the front or back car?

Check plastic caps.
If they poped of you replace them.

It's not like your engine is ongoing if the bumpers dude. You probably dented the crash support beam a little. Stop tripping everything is fine sperglord.

It takes a lot more for a support bend. Subframe bend takes a lot more than most think as well.

front

where and what are those?

I try to put my mind at ease by remembering that this could happen in a parking lot while my car is parked and I'd never know because of damage. My car is 14 years old so I'm sure this happened before, but there is no other visible damage on the rear bumper. I just want some reaffirmation.

Why don't you just take off your bumper and look for yourself?

I don't know how to put it together and that seems like a lot of work. If it's unlikely that something is damaged, I'm just going to continue driving and look into a dashcam. But if something is seriously damaged and I find out later, and it is expensive, I will just report it to my insurance company that somebody potentially hit me while I was parked.

on most car's i've had it's nothing more than a 10mm bolt and pop on tabs.
chances are if it did any damage it will be to the plastic/styrofoam under the bumper cover. pretty minor and you don't need it

no wonder you made this thread. you know nothing about cars.
please sell your car and ride the bus. its probably automatic anyway.
