As far as user-customizability/adjustment goes, carburetors are better. I don't need a fancy scan tool and laptop with expensive software to tune it, I can adjust everything with a screwdriver and timing light. My shitbox is one of the first OBDII cars and I hate it since the ECU is not tuneable at all even with an OEM $5000 scan tool, if it had a carburetor and distributor I'd be able to tune it myself for free.

But for normies who want it to just werk and don't prefer fiddling with everything to make it dead on perfect, EFI is just fine.

In terms of performance, lifespan, reliability, and MPG EFI gets everything better than carbed.
