I'm assuming head gasket was shot. Not an expert, but for fucks sake. Oil shouldn't be misting down from the sky when you remove the oil cap. Fucking craigslist strikes again.

good god. what did they do? throw it in neutral and over rev it? I had a buddy with over 350k miles on his 4af with a blown head gasket. had a milk shake in his radiator and he drove it over 65 miles a day every day no problem.

n.. no. but ive never had a car douse the entire vicinity with oil when the engine cap was off. my dad has the same car and it never does that.

Most likely they had a coolant leak (probably dry rotted radiator hoses from sitting considering "low miles") which they ignored until it got so hot it kerploded then they poured gallons of oil into it so it would sort of run until they unloaded it on some even bigger idiot than them and you.
