Is spark plug indexing a meme? I kinda want to try it on my turd gen just for an excuse to work on it.
This makes a lot of sense, huh.

The only meme here are two valves per cylinder.
Is this necessary on 4 valve per cylinder engines?
For what - 2 hp at best?
You'd be better served with iridium plugs. The longer lifespan will allow you to focus on other, more important things like getting to work on time and getting laid.

Not gonna make it to work on time with a slow car...

2HP is a nice fucking gain for literally 5 minutes of work, and $free.99

This is done because of spark positioning, if your plug is at the centre it won't matter.
How is this done though? Is it using washers?

>For what - 2 hp at best?
not even. just an immeasurably small fuel economy gain / less un-burnt fuel in your exhaust

>2 hp at best?
Not even close. Try no power. It's a spergmod. If you've worked on racing engines or high strung high output motorcycle engines you'll see that they don't bother with that shit. Why? It's pointless.

It won't change anything, and if you use spacers it will make it worse.

>iridium

It matters a lot for DI gasoline engines.
On a highly strung race engine ot may give some benefit.
On your shit box it makes no difference.

Pro tip, iridium/platinum tipped plugs don't give as nice a spark as regular ones.

No it doesn't.
The don't do this on race engines, and you won't see it on any factory engines.
