I might have the opportunity to buy a 2011 SE-R Spec V for $4000 as a daily driver. Anyone have any experience with them? Or issues with the 2007+ QR25DEs (Rogues/Altimas)? It has pretty low mileage (70k) and a small collision on record. Still has a clean title so I'm assuming it wasn't too bad of a hit.
They seem decent on paper and even pretty damn nice for a 2011 car at that price.
They're fun, pretty quick, roomy, and great daily drivers. I've been driving my 2010 spec v for about 6 years now and it's never given me any problems. 4k is a pretty damn good price for that car, man, go for it.
Engine chews precats through the engine. Also needs premium fuel.

How bad is the lack of folding seats?
How's the steering and handling? I'm coming from a bunch of 1990s Hondas as dailys and my project car is a E36 M3 so I have high expectations. I had a B13 SER as my first car.
Has it really been that good of a daily? I'm a little spooked because the B15s were comparative turds when it came to build quality (precats that broke apart and got sucked in, oil consumption issues, head gaskets, and still got poor mpg for a 175hp/2900lb car)
Honestly the worst I find after a ton of research are overly sensitive knock sensor (fix is a rubber washer, 30-45 mins to do) and not being as good as a similar year Civic Si (which your average 8th Gen Sedan is $6000-10000, I'm finding B16 SERs for $4000-7000). The Civics might be a bit more reliable and be a little nicer all around but theyre also way more expensive used always older with more mileage
These things are a total fucking steal used to the point I'm thinking something's up. It's a newer car that still performs decently. 200hp, HLSD, huge brakes off the Maxima in what's still a 6 year old car for $5000-7000 on average
The one I'm looking at had a small collision in the Carfax last year, but I doubt it was major (it would've been totaled out otherwise, if it happened early on when the car is new it wouldn't have title issues)

>premium required
>has 10.5:1 compression
That's okay
Precats and butterfly screws were fixed on this gen iirc. Had a different exhaust manifold design and no secondary intake runners compared to B15s. Now whether the newer cars still do it (2007+ QR25DE cars like Altima and Rogue included), I'm not sure.
What else can go wrong?

$4k for that is fishy. You see salvage title base models go for more.
