So I have a great job now. Looking to get rid of my 2012 Camry. Ive been eyeing a 2015 Challenger R/T Shaker. But It may be a bit out of my price range.

SO who can suggest me an AWESOME car that I can modify the exhaust to sound bad ass, manual option (not a deal breaker, ill be fine with auto) and under $30k??

Dont care if its a coupe or sedan or pickup. Dont care if its American or german (love both btw). Age could be a factor but would like to keep it 2014 and up.

Gently used Mustang GT or Scat Pack Challenger.

Im not sure about Ford. Heard shitty things about them...
>>

Save until you get the car you want. I wouldn't buy a shitty challenger though. I'd get a mustang instead.
>>

ok
>>
Just save another few months and get the challanger.
>>

Challenger*
>>
>>16028665
If you want a beast go all or nothing, its awlays either
> Buy a econobox for cheap
Or
> Buy a fast as fuck beast for a lot more expensive
Please don't be one of those fags that buy fucking V6 challangers/camaros/mustangs. Like other anons said, just save up
>>
>>16028698
Then why are you even considering Dodge? It's even below Ford in terms of quality
>>
>>16028730
>>16028714
>>16028701
Ok lets say i push my range to under $40k. Ive been eyeing a 2014 Chevy SS as well. Ive always been a fan of the HSV Clubsport. This is as close as ill ever get to that. Thoughts?
>>
>>16028774
I'd go for it if you want it.

>>

DESU, when my range becomes $40k then its either 2015 Challenger R/T Shaker VS 2015 Chevy SS vs 2010 BMW M5.

It's good but that's an awful lot of money. Do you have a house already? Max contribution to 401k? Emergency fund and 6 months of expenses saved up?

You can buy a 2016 Scat Pack for $38k

I got mine in at the end of June.
>>
>>16030741
better be manual faggit
>>
>>16028796

Forget the Shaker, it's a $3000 aesthetic option.

You can put that money towards a 392 instead, which sounds and feels infinitely better.
>>
>>16030759

It's auto.

What are you driving?
>>
>>16028745
This. Not a ford fan but dodge is undoubtedly worse.

Would get mustang before a chalanger anyday

why buy a heavy auto challenger? The manual is the only redeemable quality especially when you spend about 40k out the door.
>What are you driving?
manual cars
>>
>>16030810

Because it's my daily driver and I don't track.

k

still faster doe

i daily drive both while dealing with afternoon traffic, heavy duty clutch is no issue even with steeltoe boots i once had to use. Why can't you deal anon?

Ausfag here who drives one of these for work.

Can confirm they are fucking mint.
Over here they're almost sleeper status, since the styling is shared by a lot of the V6 family sedans.
>>
>>16028665

If you are going to buy a Challenger, don't get the Shaker hood. It's not worth it. It makes doing some basic maintenance harder and it doesn't improve air flow over a SRA or CAI.

Get a regular hood R/T, buy an intake (I suggest the SRT because CAIs are inefficient due to the proximity of intake to engine), delete the resonators, throw on short tube heads, and look at cams.

A 274 cam for an R/T is about 700 bucks and will get you and old school muscle car lope.
>>
>>16028745

No. I've daily driven my Challenger for four years and been a part of three groups, posted on two dedicated forums, and followed every maintenance issue prolific in the cars. They hold up better than Mustangs do. They hold up a fuck ton better than Camaros do.

The Hemi has less issues and the manual tranny is way more efficient and durable. The only probably any Chrysler product really has any more is related to wiring and Infotainment - problems which are neglible compared to leaking from every seal or chewing up cheap build gears.

If you want to complain about interior quality or not having a reliable touch screen, you're better off bitch in about GM and Ford respectively, because Dodge has got them both beat in spades.
>>
>>16028665
If you can find one at around 30k a 15 gt premium will be comfy as fuck to dd and is easy to make sound as mean as you want.
>>
>>16032641
what about the quality of the charger?
>>
>>16032620

And, as with every one of these threads I come across, you can't make the decision without driving one. I promise you, driving a Challenger is unlike driving its competition. I test drove a Mustang and Camaro from comparable years to my 2012 and it wasn't even a question.

The Challenger is vastly more comfortable and it feels more like a classic muscle car, but rides like a luxury car. It's great for daily commutes and long road trips, but it can shift quickly into a hooning machine able to roast tires , slide around corners, and run the quarter in respectable times.

I literally wouldn't trade mine for anything.
>>
>>16028796
If you can actually find an SS I envy you
>>
>>16032650

Same as the Challenger. Chrysler products aren't terrible anymore. This isn't the early 2000s and we're not talking about PT Cruisers and Sebrings.

Hell, the 5spd and 8spd automatics in these things are great. The shift well and transfer power very efficiently compared to their competitions.

Seriously, the only reason that FCA is so low on "reliability" charts is because of fucking infotainment problems. That's a poor metric, too, because the Chrysler Infotainment systems are so much better than literally anyone else's that it isn't funny.
>>
>>16032663
Shieet, Dodge/Chrysler as a whole gets a bad rep because if the Daimler era
Chrysler was putting out better shit than both Ford and GM prior to the merger, PT Cruiser or not, especially the LH platform cars and the Neon which was miles better than the Escort/Cavalier around that time

>>
>>16030810

Look up the specs, the auto is lighter than the manual and you don't have to deal with bullshit skip shifting.
>>
>>16028665

Look around. You can find a 2014 SRT/392 for $30k with low miles. Unless you're set on the 2015.

>>
Do modern 392s share anything in common with the first Gen hemi 392?
>>
>>16033154

Not even rucking remotely. The new 392 is 5.7 derivative. It's a completely new architecture.

It's also got less potential than a 5.7 block because it's thresholds for modification are lowered from factory.
>>
>>16033202
Fuck m8 I want a firepower like people in hell want ice water but bare blocks cost more than a damn car
>>
>>16033081
Damn, sorry about that, I thought the "and" was passive aggressive
Like "and here we go with this shit again"
Never mind, I am the asshole today
>>
That feel when I've been obsessing over Challengers for months, but was fairly disappointed after the text drive.

The parking brake is fucking retarded. Guages aren't great. Gear shift feels impractical.

Also I wouldn't get one unless I had a driveway (which I don't, because I live in Brooklyn)

It put my civic coupe into perspective actually and I actually enjoy driving it more now after testing the challenger.

Don't get me wrong though, "Holy shit" came out of my mouth when I opened that beast up on the road. That thing moves.
>>
>>16033226
I think you need an actual real challenger
>>
>>16033207

Good fucking luck, dude. Those engines are rare as a virgin in Las Vegas.
