Anything 98 to 02. They have an LS in them and the LT is hot garbage. Too many issues.

my friend in high school had a third gen camaro. he bought it as a rusted out pos with a shit interior, and a blown 305 for like $800. He signed up for the engine building class and got his hands on a junkyard 350 for a song, he droped in flat top pistons, reman vortech heads, msd hei ignition, wieland stealth intake, and a used edelbrock 750. the cam was from summit i think it had like 212 duration at .05 on the intake. He paid someone to rebuild the t-56 it had in it and put cheap summit 3.75 rear gears out back. he stripped the interior down to the sheet metal and just kept the 2 bucket seats up front. Bodywork was done with a grinder and a can of black spray paint.
It was one of the scariest/ugliest cars I have ever seen, but it started and ran as reliably as a fi 4 banger and could casually smoke the tires trough all 5 gears.
total cost was less than 3 grand.

LT's aren't bad V8's, they just really can't get out of the shadow of LS engines
Iron block small blocks will probably last till the end of time, optispark issues aside they're fine.
