If you've got enough power, you should be able to power through it and not fuck up. As far as counter steer goes, start with only whipping the ass out a little and using small amounts of correction. Work your way up from there getting used to how much moving the steering wheel effects the skid. You aren't going to be a skid king after 2 months of trying

You have to let the car do what it wants. If you force it it'll bite back. Light hands on the wheel, feel what it's trying to do. The wheel will automatically move to where it wants to correct. Same when you bring it back in to line.

Look where you want to go, keep throttle nice and constant.
