What does /o/ pick as the ultimate bug out vehicle?

>The year 2020
>Hillary starts a nuclear war with Russia and Iran
>Shit hits the fan
>You need to pack up your vehicle and survive

Things to consider

>Seating for family and friends etc
>Cargo
>Fuel economy
>Stealth
>Durability

What car does /o/ pick to survive the breakdown of civilization as we know it?

If a zombie apocalypse happens, I'm going to work and holding out there. There are people I know and trust there, it's secure, there's plenty of food, and I have a stash of tools there.
And since it's only 7 miles from my home, I can walk if needs be.

> Nuclear war
> 3 minute warning goes off
> Throw clothes and some cans of food into bag
> Get into car
> Drive
> Traffic
> Nukes hit
> Entire area within 100 miles saturated with warheads to eliminate cities, defence infrastructure, and transport hubs
> EMP causes airliners to fall out the sky

Fuck that. I hear that warning, I'm going to empty the biscuit tin and finish off my booze stash. No way in hell am I going to get anywhere safe in three minutes.

>except the guys in the mountain
NORAD is only built to withstand 30 megatons, those guys are fucked too.
>>
>>16008974
If Russia can manage to get a 30MT direct hit on CMS.

Currently, their only ICBM capable of delivering a multi-megaton blast is the SS-18, which is currently fielded with a single 10MT warhead.
If they can manage to get it past anti-ballistic defenses, it would take several hits to disable CMS.

I have no doubt, though, that the whole area here would be completely saturated with MIRVs ranging from 300KT to 1MT.
Everything outside of the mountain would be totally fucked.
>>

Bear in mind these are the publicly available figures. Nuclear capability has massively improved since NORAD was planned and honestly it was obsolete before it was "finished"

Either way, you are fucked. living in the open in Colorado Springs or anything remotely local
>>
>>16009088
I'd hope those figures are accurate, it's what the US inspectors report for our arms reduction treaties.

Not like I really have the choice to move. I live directly on a target, and there's probably a warhead slated for my work building.

My work truck. 1993 Peterbilt powered by a Cat 3604B. All mechanical so no electronics to burn out from the EMP wave generated by the nuclear blast, can run on everything from fry cooker oil to kerosene. Carries 250 gallons of fuel, and can comfortably hold 6 people plus gear. Not to mention enough power to move most anything out of the way. Big enough to not be stopped by normal vehicles, and with the addition of a 32 foot trailer, can store everything to survive for months.

This thing got me and all my shit between my house and college dorm, and then to my first apartment, and then from my apartment to my current place. Every time I managed to fit all my shit in one trip. If I'm only bringing survival essentials, I'll have room to spare. I'm currently trying to build it up for the end of the world because it's what I've got. The build list looks something like
>LSD
>lift kit
>big offroad tires
>extra gasoline storage
>upping the horsepower would help because I'm not gonna be outrunning anyone with the current amount
>custom fab a brushguard out of some pipe
>window and wheel armor/shredders that I can attach when shit goes down

It's already got a compartment in the back for hiding valuables or weapons. If I want to get really crazy I could cut a hole in the roof and mount a large gun on a rotating turret for a friend to operate, but I value the shelter that the roof provides more for the moment.

stealth is for pussies, put all points into attack and defense or speed. with stealth, you get discovered once and you're fucked, generally don't have the power to fight back because you sacrificed it for the sake of not being seen or heard. with speed, they can't kill what they can't catch. and attack/defense build is obvious.
>>
>>16010021
EMP doesn't magically kill all electical devices, and those it doesn't kill can be replaced if your vehicle is common. Fearfags should learn more about EMP and how the .milworld hardens against it.

My vehicles aren't connected to the power grid and I can convert important ones to points ignition if ever required, though basic electronic ignitions are simple. I've five Harleys and two 1970s Fords turnkey ready for EMP (but of course that's fucking stupid, I run points for reliability and ease of kickstarting. People underestimate what points are good for.)

BTW simple mower and generator engines with magneto ignition won't be bothered by EMP either, but EMP ain't gonna happen because Russians aren't suicidal and neither is the US government.

EMP ruins sensitive electronics (circuit board type stuff) that aren't shielded, and the effects are intensified if there's current running through it at the time of the attack. The most sensitive things in cars are the engine computer and dashboard, and maybe some light duty solenoids. The engine computer actually has its own shielding already, and dashboard stuff often isn't essential. The problem cars would be newer ones with a sophisticated computer hidden goddamn everywhere for every different purpose. If your shitbox is from like, the 80s you probably won't even be affected.

The people are powerless, corporations and politicians do whatever they want. I wanted to vote in the primaries but couldn't because I'm registered as independent, because I don't have enough faith in either party to pledge to them. And even if I did, you have to change parties a whole year in advance, when there hasn't been any campaigning to speak of and you don't know who's the right choice. America is no longer a democracy. Shillary is gonna rig this election and there will either be an uprising where citizens finally put their guns to use, or nobody will care and the US will become more cucked and culturally enriched than Sweden. Excuse me for planning to get the fuck out of a situation I have no control over.

Until you are buttfucked by the retarded amounts of radiation smothering most of the countryside. You'd need to find a cave and then find some way to filter the air that you need to breathe. And if you survive that, you then have to find things to eat, and that's not likely. And if you do find things to eat, you best hope they're not irradiated. And if they're not, let's hope the winter isn't too harsh when it comes around. And if it's nice enough that you survive, enjoy trying to survive the summer without skin cancer thanks to the lack of ozone.

Honestly I would not want to survive a nuclear war. I'd like to watch it happen then kill myself afterward.
