How do I have fun in pic related, it's an auto.
>STICK OR NOTHING NIGGA
Yes I know, but this 2005 330i is the ZHP model and mechanically it's perfect. 107k on the clock and I only paid 3k. So I couldn't let it go. It has some minor cosmetic defects, hence the price. Either way the dealer I bought it from didn't know what he had, if not I'm sure I would have been asked to shelve at more for the car.
>BMW? MORE LIKE BAVARIAN MONEY PIT
Why hasn't this meme died? My dad has an 06 325i and it's never failed him, hes spent 500$ at the most in parts and repairs which just include some pumps he tore when he was changing the starter and a radiator hose that tore too. My mom's X5 has 140k on the engine and it's running fine. Honestly if you know a guy and buy your parts online you can afford a Bavarian Machine of Death.
Just swap it you big vagina, you'll make it worth twice what you paid for it

nice bait though
manual swaps on e46 are well documented, not that difficult, and not that expensive

>hurr durr i got a gud deal cuz auto
impossible. an auto bmw is worthless. you overpaid by 3k. should've saved your pennies and dimes and bought a manual zhp for 7-9k

Thanks man
This is technically my first car but I had driven my mom's X5 for a while and the 4.4 liter V8 could haul ass, I could smoke F150 fags and Silverado kiddies back in high school with that car.
also pic is my steering wheel

a solid zhp for 3k is kinda hard to pass up
study that manual swap procedure very carefully, research as much as you can, get realistic cost esimates and plan it out.
if you've only ever done oil changes this will seem daunting but it'll be tough to legitimately mess anything up, the most that can go wrong is that it just takes a long time, like three weeks on jack stands working on and off

Yeah, there were a couple ZHPs here in a Dallas a couple years ago and they were going for more than 9k but I hadn't seen one until now. The dealer literally just put "BMW 330" but when I saw the trim and the little spoiler I could tell it was a ZHP so I knew I couldnt let it slide. Either way I still can have a bit of fun in empty parking lots when it rains. I plan on putting in a GruppeM intake and a LSD in the future but might go for the tranny swap first

for one, fucking catch up on maintenance dummy, don't neglect that
for another, your first performance mod MUST be the manual swap

Are you the guy who keeps on going on in every fucking thread about how he puts his BMW keys on the bar and instantly girls start grabbing your dick?

Easily among the cutest corollas in existence.

Nah
>>15996062
no lol I don't even have a picture of my key but yesterday I made my very own lego battle droid keychain
Will the key chain get me girls? Because the BMW emblem isn't on the key

Track day bro
Lots of people autox their Bavarian Land Yachts around here and seem to enjoy it. Just go drive it hard, transmission shouldn't stop you from doing that.
And do what >>15996031 says, the money pit meme comes from people who neglect their cars.
I've seen one BMW engine blow in person, it was an E36 M3 with ~290k miles on it that autox'd monthly for years.

Dad used to have an old Del Sol and various Saabs that were stick so that's where I learned how2sticklife
serious reply here, from someone who actually knows a fair bit about this.
seeing as you own a later 3 series, you can swap out the transmission fairly easily compared to earlier e46 (due to lack of hall effects sensor in previos models)
Depending on your car's options, you might need a new rear diff though.
It's as simple of taking that disgusting GM transmission out, fitting a new flywheel/transmission/driveshaft/pedals/slave cylinder/ etc and running a wire to the DME (to cover what the clutch release sensor does in order to start the car)
You WILL end up with a CEL, but you'll have a perfectly functional car. You can install the clutch hall effects sensor and get the car recoded to remove the CEL.
It's between 700-1300 in parts. theres a massive thread on this on bimmerfest and e46fanatics.

I put my keys on the bar because I don't like how they feel in my pocket sitting down. I don't think I've ever had a girl even talk to me because of it
