It's 1988, and you're a hotshot Wall Street executive. Your boss just gave you a call, saying that you'll be spending a year doing business in Japan. As compensation for being relocated, he said that you'd be able to get any company car you want. Provided it's available in Japan and costs less than ¥1 Million.
What do you get?

is it a 4g54B 2.6L or 4G63T (swapped in murrica or import) what kind of work does it need? mine was barely driveable when i got it. paid 600 in still driveable shape with a parts car. needs a turbo, good luck finding a good 12A, but any mitsubishi turbo bolts up with no or minor mods. check the head gaskets, see if it has the jet valve elimination kit, balance shaft delete, oil pressure is good if balance shafts are still in place or guy doesnt know. The automatic seat belts do fail. have a backup set of preferably 87 or older door panels for retrofitting. 88 it =s a good year. see if it h as the SHP package with adjustable struts and 9" rear wheels identifiable by a recessed stamp in the spoke opposite the valvestem. good cars but finicky like any dsm.

Is this what NEETs imagine corporate life is like?
What executive member would be so under a rock that an even higher executive needs to call them to let them know they will be relocating?
>>15980890
Yup being an executive is basically an all expenses paid 300k a year starting fantasy camp where you just show up to 12 meetings a year and mumble "yes" or "no" and have shitloads of free stuff comped to you
>>15981025
That is 100% accurate
>>15980505
Do it. NOW
>>15979722
F31 Leopard.
>>15979818
Jesus christ you went from one extreme to the other.
That said though. I would get an 1800 lancer turbo, and spent some dosh on the engine to get around 250 hp. That would be enough for that era to turn heads around.
>free company car in Japan
>not going full rotard
I have no idea what it cost

In 1987, Road & Track published a test summary that shows the 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si 4WS outperforming every car of that year on the slalom, with a speed of 65.5 mph (105.4 km/h), even besting exotics such as Porsche and Ferrari. For reference, the 1988 Chevrolet Corvette C4 took the same course at 64.9 mph (104.4 km/h).

Fine, a 88 lotus esprit turbo.
