Yeah most of the money went into the engine swap
I got the SR5 so I swapped in a small port redtop with Weber carbs
And don't get me started on the rear end plus coilovers

Found the celica/supra wheels dirt cheap tho

I'm in Florida. I'm assuming anything in your area is going to be more expensive than everywhere else, although miatas are still >$1500 here, so $2000 isn't terrible. If you really look around I'm sure you could find something cheaper. At least you've go way more cool cars to look at. The 86 doesn't exist down where I'm at lol.

Full interior, all glass there, and functional electronics...

Look for rubber to be in fair shape,

and who cares about the engine and trans because I was gonna pull those

Important: (don't buy a ae86 as a daily! It took 2 years to make it daily reliable)

I have two actually. The other one is a 2000 GT that I picked up for $1400. It ran well for a year but the crank pos. sensor went bad and I got a dd when I decided to do something else with it. This one is a 2001 GT that's been absolutely stripped. I'm shopping for an Endeavor as a donor car since I'm using the drivetrain from that.
The 3G is like the abortion of the Eclipse family. It was pigfat and slow but I loved the shape and loved the idea of a v6 eclipse. I like DSM's more than 4Gs, but the 3G kinda sticks out.

It's given me nothing but shit since I drove it home. It's left me on the side of the road multiple times. It starts when it's ready to and if I ignore it for a few weeks, it'll get pissy with me and stop running properly.

___1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata "Leather Package."
_Purchased late 2009.
_Paid USD $2,500 - Trailered it home because the water pump was fucked.
_Money "invested:" Probably around $11k now. I've only spent ~$250 on necessary repairs though. Mostly I've spent on refurbishing and preventative maintenance.
___I love this car so fucking much. I had an STi when I got the Miata and soon discovered that LSD-equipped RWD is the best shit in the world. I drive the living shit out of this miata and it takes it, even with 222k miles on the odo.

Nice '86 sempai

>Purchased last year
>Price paid: a stupid amount

>I love it because she's fun and handles like a go kart.

replaced my fuel pump, rebuilt my dizzy, replaced my radiator only to have my E fan tear a hole through it, replaced countless relays, replaced my water pump and thermostat.

My next course of action is to patch up my rust, reseal my quarter windows or have poly carbonate glass riveted in standalone ECU, and cams.

Oh that's excellent I wish I had seen him post. I rarely use a trip anymore. After powertrain is settled with the car I'll be dialing in the suspension and putting better brakes on. Then probably paint the car and save up for a RIPP supercharger.
I saw a build where a guy bored it out to a 4.0 v6 but he had custom internals made

$1-1.25k mostly just maintenance and getting it running smooth. replaced or cleaned just about everything fuel/air, cooling system, tires, and so on
My friend/his dad had this car forever. I test drove both his vert and the sedan (mine), and just kinda fell in love. It's loud and slow while handling great, with a body style I like.

The brake master cylinder just gave up last weekend, and the battery is also pretty much done. Pretty much on hold until I get a friend's car for parts and going to swap stuff. After that it's just going to be suspension mods and for track/autox.
