it's exactly the same as what they do in the factory to ensure longevity. the engine is usually able to put out 50-100hp more, but they keep it detuned to stay nice and reliable.

Running a powerful car on nice clean freeways is different to taking it on questionable backroads, where you can't put full throttle down safely. After a period of time it becomes annoying you can't use more than 10% of throttle.

Exactly. I moved about a month ago and switched over to smaller turbos and had a re-tune.

My GTR only weighs 1310kg right now. I've got it set up for good handling, light weight and a usable power band, not the stupid power it had before (though it still puts a lot of power out at the wheels).

Anyone claiming it's more fun to have a dyno monster than an enjoyable car is just shitposting.
