What can /o/ tell me about the Volvo c30?

Saw one in traffic today and thought it looked cool.

Would they make a decent commuter car?

Im in California
>>
Looks nice, 5 cylinder sounds great, enough power to get out of its own way, comfy.

However, it's not as fast as you might expect a compact turbocharged 5 cylinder hatchback to be, the turning circle is huge, and it's not the most practical or roomy hatch.

Cool car, you could do worse
>>
>>15942690
Im used to driving cars with under 200hp so itll probably be enough for me.

I did like the 4 seats it had, could make more room by removing one or both.
>>
>>15942721
Then go for it, they're nice cars. A bit thirsty maybe, but the sound alone makes up for that already.
>>
>>15942664
One of the coolest things in its class.
>>
>>15942739
Okay one more thing, how would this stack up against a Focus/Fiesta ST?

In terms of comfort and reliability
>>
Is Volvo good with reliability? How does it compare to say ford or toyota?
>>
>>15942993
My volvos have been pretty reliable. If something does go wrong parts are on the spendy side. I do my own wrenching so I save a lot there but shops will rape you if you cant. The 5cyl is super easy to work on and there's decent aftermarket for them.
>>
Ok. I own automatic 2013 frs.
Gf has manual 2012 c30.
I DD both cuz she got a DUI.

C30 has an electronic clutch. Only buy the automatic. I fucking HATE this clutch. Its literally the biggest pos ever.

We got the T5. It drives really fast in straight line. Once you are in 3k+ rpm, you get awesome power. More than my frs. Cuz u know. Bigger engine, turbo.

Fuel consumption is great. It's tuned for cheapest gas ever. So fuel up at costco w 87.

4 seater. AMAAAAZING.

Space in trunk/folding seats. AMAAAAZING.

We got a Thule on top for bikes and space. The clamps go on the side of the car. This shit pisses me off.

Turning radius is better than my frs.

Suspension: super soft.

Cornering: I feel like I will wipe out and die every time. It's fwd and soft. So ah doing can't compare to frs. BUT ITS SO SOFT ON THE ROAD. I FKN LOVE IT.

You sit higher than average car. Good seating position

No blind spots cuz amazing visibility cuz of design.

Controls inside are awesome. I only hate the positioning of the flashers. I use them in traffic in Toronto often cuz morons tail all the time and traffic stops often on highway.

Leather is meeeeeh. Gets too hot in summer. I prefer material.

Oil changes are 2x than Toyota. Service is amazing at certain dealers (mississauga dealer is Greta in the GTA), others are scum (Toronto dealers).

Which year? Which model? How many km? How much they asking?

Get a polestar. Do eet
>>

Op here.
No idea.

I just saw one in traffic and i thought it looked nice. Dont see them very often.

Id probably go for the T5 though.

Not sure how much they go for, let me do a quick Google search

This one doesnt look bad but thats 5.0 Coyote money, ugh what do
>>
>>15946418
grandma has a T5. Great fun little car, and is even a bit sleeper-y, But then again, no one really expects a volvo to be driven quickly
>>
>>15942984
The Volvo is definitely going to be more refined and luxurious. Although Ford has gotten a lot better, Volvo interiors are generally very good.
>>
Would not recommend.

I owned a black Volvo C30 with the R design trim for about a year.

Pros:
I5 sounded ok
Good looking from the front
Nice interior

Cons:
Pretty slow
Auto a shit
Excessively invasive traction control
Back seats are laughably small
Trunk is large, but the appeture is very small so you can't fit anything in it
Understeer is as bad as I've ever seen
Repairs aren't cheap
I wouldn't say it's reliable
Doors are silly long so it's legit hard to open them in tight spaces

Overall I don't recommend this at all. Go with the GTI.
