Do you know how your friend used to drive in it, especially when he was alone? I tend to drive my car relatively smoothly when I've got passengers but I absolutely hoon the shit out of it when alone. Nobody who knows me would buy my car, despite lithe fact that it's flawless and rightfully so.

Oh, also. Ask him how much he used to spend on maintenance. Trusting that he's a good friend, he'll give you an accurate indication of future costs
