So what's the /ovg/ consensus on Horizon 3? My friends and I are all racing game veterans and a few of us agree that it's probably the best racing game we've ever played.

Yes the "adventure" mode. The quality of racing is awful though. Not that i am expecting iRacing tier quality, but people just drive so awful. If you are in front you will be used as a brake, if you overtake they turn directly into you to make sure you both crash. It's just awful... Collision needs to be disabled in online MP because people can't drive for shit.

How's the classic muscle car selection? I loved going online with the old dart and beating people in super cars.

I've had some problems using groove for my own songs in horizon. For some reason after a while, usually towards the end of a song, it will start stuttering on one part over and over until it switches to the next track. I also have two songs that won't play at all for some reason. I thought maybe the files got messed up when I uploaded them but if I go into the groove app on the Xbox everything works perfectly. It's very annoying.

You can replace engines and drivetrains to jump up classes in any car. Not all will reach the top of S1 or S2, but you can make say a Willys Jeep compete at the same level of like a Jaguar XK-R. There are really no fodder cars except maybe the Reliant Regal.

Like the Saleen S7 can take the 8.4L V10 from a Viper. It doesn't say 'Viper V10' but if you know a bit about cars, you know it's that. My Merc E63 AMG has the option to take a 6.5L V12 which, iirc, is the engine from an Aventador.

There is no "unlocking" apart from barn finds and midnight battles. If you have the dosh you can buy any car at any time. You can upgrade cars a lot but like in real life some platforms are better than others. An S1 foxbody will lose to an S1 S550 mustang.

Threw out the stock engine, replaced with a 6.2L V8. No rear wing, dropped suspension, transmission, diff, weight reduction and tyres but no power upgrades.

500hp and top of A Class. It may not be the fastest, but it feels great and sounds good to.

It doesn't really matter what the developers do now.
The game has already been cracked and we have the ability to modify the game, just like old Forzas.
Then comes the point of creating our own private servers to host with each other.

Cancelling out the need for the xbox app and hopefully even windows 10, but that's most likely not going to happen.
I played Forza 4 hacked disc for years with buddies online doing months worth of racing.
It was great.

PC makes that a lot easier than xbox ;)

Older cars with ultra-shitty tires need the upgrade to compete with newer cars in the corners, but you often don't need to go beyond the first tier of tires.

There's been sufficient testing to show that rally tires can cut a lot of time out of your offroad times, because you have substantially less wheelspin.
