what's the best bang for buck v12 that can make power?

i was thinking the M73 taking it out of a beaten up 750i, tuning it up...
>>
and putting it in this?
>>
Get three 2.3L Ecoboost i4s and tape them together. Boom. Best v12 engine ever.
>>
>>15902030
learn geometry
>>
you better have somebody livestreaming it when you crash and die
>>
>>15901999
A jag V12
>>
>>15902039
how? webcams can't go outside they'd die from thermal shock.
>>
>>15902036
Learn maths, idiot. 12/4=3
>>
>>15902063
sigh....

*adjusts razor powered(tm) trilby hat*

listen here normlet, you are going to take 3 inline engines and make a v. learn geometry.
>>
>>15901999
There's a guy(s) in Australia that makes an ls v12, he get 2 gm v8 engines, cuts them and bolts them together, would cost very little if you did it yourself.
>>
>>15902083
cut the third one in half and add 2 cylinders to each bank of 4. Or just make a 4.6l egoboost.
>>
>>15902835
the balance would be so fucked.
>>
>>15901999
>i was thinking the M73 taking it out of a beaten up 750i, tuning it up...

Or just get a V8 crate engine for 1/5 the price and make more power reliably while being slightly less smooth. v12 a shit unless its making 700hp+
>>
>>15901999
salvage title v12 benz. it's the principle behind some of the paganis
>>
>>15902835
im pretty sure its more complicated than "mate these blocks together and this crankshaft too while ur at it m8"

>did it yourself

lmao i dont want to die
>>
>>15902044
Probably this. Not even that complicated, there's just a lot of stuff.
>>
>>15901999
Good luck with that. They aren't great engines by any measure and rebuilding them is monstrously expensive.
>>
>>15902851
>and add 2 cylinders to each bank
Yeah but, can you imagine how much Crazy Glue, Duct tape and Electrical tape you'd need you'd need for that?
It'd be cheaper to just buy a SL600 engine from a junkyard and mod it to your needs.
>>
>>15901999
>"Tunning it up"
Lol. Try not to get caught up in dreams fag. It's not worth it.
>>
OP here. i guess i should adjust my question. power isn't really as important as sound in this case because it'd be put in a replica car and i'd want to adhere to its original qualities. be it sound and smoothness, as a flat or v 12 i thought this would be needed. am i wrong?

Use this motor OP, it came straight to mind maybe you can stuff it into a Factory Five GTM
>>
>>15903140
i was thinking more along the lines of a RCR ferrari P4.
>>
>>15903144
This brings up the question I've been pondering for quite some time.
Why don't more companies allow licensed reproductions?
I'd love a clk gtr kit car I'd use said engine in it
>>
>>15903174
i'm more curious as to how that w220 can sound like that. aren't equal length headers commonplace?
>>
>>15901999

They do M73's as well.

Though, an N74 could be lots of fun if you want to stay BMW.

Otherwise, the TT V12 out of an 04? SL600.
>>
>>15903238
it's not that i want to stay bmw or mercedes i just didn't know which was easier to work with or sounded better.
>>
>>15903248
The best sounding V12 I've ever heard that wasn't racing was on DUDMD's SL600.

I think the M73 is going to be the easiest to work on.
>>
>>15903238
>http://racingpowerplant.com/bmw_m70.htm
Thanks for the Linkmate, Imagine swapping this motor(Option F) into (Just humor me) a 12c and by some miracle making it's transmission work with it.
Perfection
>>
>>15901999
depends on how much power you want. an m73 should be tuneable to 400hp before it gets crazy expensive but a merc m120 will do that out of the box.
merc m137 is lighter and smaller and makes about 360hp
>>
>>15903264
>>15903281
He's still working on the tune a bit here, but...

Also, Option F is $125K US, but it's a drop in replacement on 00,01 750iL's.
>>
>tuning it up
unless you happen to "know a guy" who can source you custom high compression pistons, high lift cams and custom intake manifolds then what exactly do you plan on being able to do outside of turbo?

note, none of this is in any way what a mere mortal would consider cheap

>>15903304
And one more...

>>
>>15901999
Just mate 2 RB26s or 2JZs at the crank. They snap together like legos
>>
Just put 2 Ecoboost V6 engines end to end
>>
>>15904245
some cunts just don't have good bread lying around
>>

Porsche M64
Any V12 out of a barge will heavy as fuck.

Not that it matters.

Because you'll never actually do this.

Why not just tape four I3 Ecoboosts together instead?
>>
>>15904958
>4 liter ecoboost V12
yes
>>
>>15904958
Or, alternatively, two V6's?

>>15901999
>V12
>Bang for buck
Pick one. Either spend money, or get a V8 instead.
>>
>>15901999
>bang for buck v12
>>

You are a fucking retard
>>
>>15903313
>custom high compression pistons
Why custom? Just order a bore diameter and pin height, done. Mahle probably has everything you need.
>high lift cams
Schrick. Might want a custom profile though.
>custom intake manifolds
Ever seen those sheetmetal dragracing intakes? Not that hard to fab up if you've got someone who's half decent with a welder. The trick is getting the ITB's to work.

>>15904961

ALL THE REVS
>>
Just go 4 rotor rotary, there's a company in Australia that makes the crankshafts & center housing you just stick 2 13b's together.

>quad rotor quad turbo

Not sure what you would do about the tranny and the heat though
>>
>>15906006
> tranny
Just throw 20k at OS Giken
>>
>>15904931
fuck you i'll do it. also how much do M64s go for.
>>
>>15906006
that sounds like it'd be way too expensive to maintain.
