get one built in or before 2006, the road tax is half the amount. Check the exhaust though, they can go around the 10 year mark and cost a little bit to replace.

I'll give you some background on my situation because the britfags and amerifags will find it interesting. I actually live in IRE and have relatives in UK/NI. It's easier to say UK because I have access to that market. The prices in IRE are fucking stupid and the specs on the cars here suck, importing a 350z is about 1500 euro just for the import alone but you have much more selection.

Tax on a 350z in the UK is about 500 poundos but the same car here is 1800 euro a year tax. In IRE, cars older than a specific date in 2008 are taxed base on engine size up to a maximum of 1800 euro (which the 350z hits easily). After 2008 cars are taxed based on their emissions, since the 350z is 280mg Co2 (or something like that, I forget) it gets taxed at the highest bracket, 2300~ euro, an extra 500 per year. I'm going to get fucked in the ass no matter what I do with tax but I am aiming for HR built before July 2008 (which limits me to 1.5 years). This is all based off memory so I may have rounded some numbers off.
