Still waiting for this

Producing engines that don't explode
>cadillac tesla competitor
>take the bolt drivetrain and put a shitload more batteries in there and a huge ass motor
>give it some of that nu-cadillac suspension magic and bomb-ass chassis engineering
i'd like one cadillac rocket ship please
Speaking of the XTS, is it reliable?
They depreciate like a motherfucker and I might get one
>>15895829
>implying it will be anything else but an ELR 2.0
>>15895862
Most everything Caddy has produced since their Art and Science debut has been pretty eh for reliability and relatively expensive to fix. About on par with BMW. Don't buy unless you can get one under warranty.

>What's Lincoln been up to?
Lincoln has definetly been quieter than Cadillac is, but Ford has been pumping them full of billions too.
The immediate future for Lincoln is that a new Navigator is incoming, based on an aluminum frame like Ford's F150 and the upcoming Ford Expedition, which the Navigator shares a platform with. With any luck, it will propel Ford back into being a real player in the large SUV market, so they can actually compete with GM in this regard.
I do not know whether the MKT will be updated or not, perhaps the Continental could mean Lincoln is planning on eventually abandoning the MK- naming series and they could introduce a new generation of MKT as the new Lincoln Town Car.
There are rumors (nothing concrete) about Lincoln possibly getting a 2-door coupe for the first time since 1998. I don't know how true this is though, but it would certainly be beneficial to Lincoln's fairly small lineup.

I saw the Continental concept back in February, and I gotta say, if they go through with it Lincoln could very well be back on the map. I think Ford is doing a lot of watching and evaluating before throwing anything to the market. The one thing they do best is playing it safe.
>>15896242
>if they go through with it
Lincoln's definitely going through with it.
http://www.lincoln.com/cars/continental/
It would be cool to see Lincoln make a comeback. I don't think they've been a serious part of the market since at least the late 80s, the Navigator and the Town Car were the last cars that were actually competitive in the luxury car market.
Can't have more of an old folks rolling coffin brand rep than Lincoln, time to throw it in the trash and bring back Saturn and Pontiac if they want to make high tech cars
>>15896273
What would be really cool, at least to me, is to see Mercury come back as what it was always supposed to be; a sportier cut above a Ford. It's sad that they're gone for good now, because I think Ford could restructure the three brands in such a way that the three wouldn't compete with one another.
>>15896299
Dude, did you ever drive a Saturn? There's no "high tech" anywhere NEAR the thing. It was made to be cheap, and absolutely nothing else. Saturns are fun, but it's time came and went.

>>15895796
We're both waiting for something, anon.
>>15896341
>american company
>largest american car company, with billions at it's disposal, that have been in the past on par with Rolls Royce's of their time, and could make a decent sports luxury car that isn't a boomer dreammobile if they'd quit fucking around and do the work
Give it a decade. If GM wants to, they can and will do it.
>>15896299
Drunk posting?
>>15896457
They could, but that would take money and time on research and development. It seems to me that they are perfectly happy with selling thousands variations of the same car.
>>15895829
maybe your too young out just ignorant, but the last time Cadillac produced an "electric car" it was an overpriced volt that performed no better. oh and that government gm money was most definitely used to pay for it side they didn't make any money off of the sales. wake up and think before you shitpost

And that is exactly what Merc, Audi, and BMW have been shifting to for most of the past decade. Cadillac is gaining speed, while the german 3 are losing it.
