I like haggard garage, cars aren't supposed to be super serious, and I respect good old fashioned cost cutting work versus the buy everything you can and money is power car culture turned into these days. I hate boomers and I don't really like playing games on their terms either because they always have more money than me.

Even the focus on drifting tries to focus more on skill and low cost entry versus money to win to a large extent but its still unavoidable there.

I mean most of us buy miatas because they are a low cost platform that lets you focus more on driver skill which is free to improve on and what the hobby is about versus just paying to go faster in a straight line which is what boomers try to turn it into.

Also I prefer bikes over cars because its the cheapest platform of fun to work with that has a high skill ceiling to grow into, but I like miatas, the non serious culture and the focus on autocross or drifting too and own one, and haggard garage is a big staple of it right now.

Their "good old fashioned cost-cutting" comes at the price of a couple things, safety for one, where they were too damn cheap to get a welding mask, let alone something like a spring compressor and I'm still waiting for one of them to catch a control arm to the toes.
