What does /o/ think about the the late 90's dodge 1500's? I know dodge havent had the best transmissions. But are there anything else I should be aware of?

their gas engines are gutless
>not buying a first or second gen dodge with 12valve 5.9 cummins

Dash and all interior plastics cracked, rust, electric problems. Still see plenty of them running around. Had a 97 gas v8.
Great work truck. Abuse the fuck out of it, doesn't matter if it gets dirty or scratches up. Most actual work trucks I see are dodges.
>terrible transmissions
>terrible interiors
>terrible steering
other than that they are ok, but I'd get a similar ford if i was in the market. only reason to buy a dodge is if youre getting a cummins

>Dash and all interior plastics cracked
This, late 90s dodge trucks have the shittiest interiors ever

>tfw baby boomer degenerates by trucks and treat them like they are a luxury car instead of working the hell out of them
My Grandpa has a brand new F 150 Lariat and slowed down to go through a water puddle because he didn't want dirt splashed up on his truck.

It's decent, you might need to pay close attention to the alternator from time to time.

Good luck finding one that hasn't been redneck riced by coal rolling teenagers.
Rust
You'll want a manual
Interior is fine there's just a huge bezel all the way around everything that pops off and will crack when you pop it off if you're not very very careful with it
Rear main seal leaks
All in all pretty great. Would definitely prefer a diesel but beggars can't be choosers

Imma need moar photos

I would do the same if I spent 40k or more on brand new trucks (unless it was pocket change for me).

Most trucks are luxury vehicles, much like SUVs have become soccer mom shuttles. A lot of trucks are soccer mom vehicles.

wew lad I meant of that qt3.14
80s Dodge>90s Dodge

I briefly owned a '99 ram 1500 (gas) when I was going through my $500 truck-of-the-month phase.
Sold it for the same price a couple of weeks after, but it seemed like a decent truck in the short time I owned it. If you have some spare cash check out the 2nd gen diesel 2500 sport. Stout torquey i6 w/ manual trans that retain value and are unkillable.

>I know dodge havent had the best transmissions.
the transmissions found behind the v8s, v10s and diesels is very tough. its based off a a727 torqueflight.

Oh geez don't remind me.
