If you buy a pair of Ramos rated at 1 ton it doesn't ean each can carry 1ton, but that both of them TOGETHER can carry 1 ton. When it comes to this type of shit i always make sure to buy equipment rated for a lot more than the weight of my vehicle. (Use 3 ton jacks and jackstands to hold up a 1.5ton-2ton car)

Chinese-sourced steel is often out of spec. If the ramps are chinese-made, then you have to derate them because chinese are notorious for over-rating their products. Your chinese steel ramps might use cast parts instead of forged.metal.

I was the same way at first. I only ever got under my car if the jack stands have been holding it up for a few hours. Still the thought is always in the back of my mind but I haven't hesitated getting under in a while. Nothing wrong with being too cautious anon, just don't get so comfortable you become careless.

I'm more concerned that unless he is severely DYEL he's gonna only have a few inches to back up when pulling the wheels. That shop is beyond cozy and right down into claustrophobic. I'd hate to tear into anything in there and have no room to lay out of maneuver shit. Pulling a dash in that shack would be impossible.

Now i remember why i left /o/ read the fucking boxes tour jackstands came in. The rated capacity that they show is if you evenly distribute weight across BOTH jackstands. Of course I'm not talking about the fact that a jackstand rated at 2tons can actually carry more than that, they just make the load lower for safety reasons. I'm talking about how if you read the damn boxes your jackstands come in, it clearly states something like

We're not talking ANSI specifications, but the Safety specifications that the manufacturer chooses to state

We used pic replated to do exotics- we just had to get the nose up to do paint protection (clear vinyl to protect from rock chips and sbit).
Damn things are made of foam.
