It doesn't upset anyone, it's just the shitposting surrounding it. If anyone is complaining about the engine itself, it's probably because it's trademarking a technology everyone else is using. Everyone is using direct injection with turbochargers, the Ecoboost isn't special in any way.

They're decent engines with great low/midrange torque, though they need to have a catch can by default to reduce build-up on valves. And I have no idea what they were thinking with making the crank cast instead of forged. You can't get more than 300 HP/L out of these things before they start exploding.
