If you're getting a second-gen IS, then get the 350 or F. Note that the second-gen IS250/350 are a little sloppy in handling.

For that price, I would get a G37 over the IS250. You can find a decent one for about that price in Canada.

the 250s have carbon buildup issues and their slow as fuck, but other than that its an alright car. manual is rare as fuck on these so thats a plus

I had an 08 is250 for 9 months. Sold it for a C5 M6, my advice is don't waste your money. If you have to get a Jap car by a used TL type S.

Sounds like a decent deal. If you gotta go fast in a straight line, you'll be disappointed. It'll be a good daily, and has an alright chassis for fun.

Based on my Googling skills...

Just for reference, I bought my 2007 IS350 for just over $16k with roughly 72,000 miles on it.

Honestly, the 250 can't even compare. Just save a bit more and spring for the larger engine.
