A Model S has a 1 in 2.5 million chance of burning down while charging at a Tesla Supercharger. This statistic is based on the fact that Superchargers have been used 2.5 million times with only one report of a fire earlier this year in Norway.
>Tesla will update the Model S software for safer charging following a Supercharger fire
Tesla Model S battery bursts into flames, car “totally destroyed” in 5 minutes

I figured something like this would happen, batteries get hot very fast when you cram amps into them at a fast rate, and this is in addition to the batteries being very hot from driving already.
Statistics are fucking useless bullshit.
Either it happens, or it doesn't.

I guess the Superchargers are useful for long trips and convenient fast charging, but it seems like using 110V to keep your Tesla around 50% would lead to the longest battery life

>>15658627
that's not how statistics or probability works
>>15658636
Battery life is mostly how violent the charge/discharge cycle is and keeping them half-fill for storage assuming, itjium ion works similar to lithium polymer.
Well you don't NEED a supercharger. When will we have common sense regulation for EV charger in stations?

130,000 cars built 2 spontaneously combust.
> 1 in 65,00 chance
I'm more concerned about drivers jerking off while their car "autopilots" them into the back of a semi and kills them

A Texas man said the Autopilot mode on his Tesla Model S sent him off the road and into a guardrail, bloodying his nose and shaking his confidence in the technology.
Tesla removed the word "autopilot" and a Chinese term for "self-driving" from its China website after a driver in Beijing who crashed in "autopilot" mode complained that the car maker overplayed the function's capability and misled buyers.

>Have a very fast and good handling car
>Letting the ECU have all the fun of driving it
How much of a faggot can one person even be?
>>15660516
they were very clear about the whole 'youre still the one whos driving' thing. so its just the texan and a chink being dumb
>>15663486
>call it "autopilot" and "self driving"
>act all shocked when your moron customers treat it like "autopilot" and "self driving"
Tesla logic, everbody

after a 20 min drive Tesla Model S battery bursts into flames, car “totally destroyed” in 5 minutes.
When these fires start they don't stop.
>great tires though
Water won't put out the fire so these guys ...just?
Let's just make sure.
>>15664216
They can put out any nearby fires it sets off, though.
>>15664226
Fires are sneaky as fuck, m8. Drown those fuckers asap.
>>15664216
Is it dangerous to put out a fire of an electrical car with water?
Still safer than a Ferrari. Mario forgets to torque a fuel line connector down to spec, and the car bursts into flames during normal operation. Then all you have is an engine block and a puddle of melted composites.
