Redpill me on these /o/. Price seems cheap, too cheap in fact. Is there probably something wrong or is this gen of Z pieces of shit that nobody cares about.

nb4 200k miles.

Body is probably swiss cheese
>>
It's an unrestored 40 year old economy sport sedan $3600 doesn't seem cheap at all in fact I'd expect it to be in above average condition at that price, which is what he's claiming. It seems solid so if you have the money plus a thousand in the bank and a hundred or so every month to keep feeding the fairlady, go for it assuming you're aware of how spartan old cars are.
>>
you're looking at a money sink
the thing is, even if you would buy one in a much better shape you'd still end up with a money sink

these cars are too old to be simply a matter of
proper maintenance
until you finish the restoration project shit is going to break

First Gen Z cars are fantastic but they are climbing in value, I got a 280z last spring for $4500 and that was a steal.

The L24-L28 engine that comes in the s30 is one of the strongest most reliable engines every made its a fucking tank. Don't buy the car unless its a manual trans.

based off the pictures on that Craigslist add that car looks like it is a rust bucket, If you can see that much surface rust there is at least 10x that hiding in the body. I would suggest you keep looking man. Also the 260z was only made one year because the 2.6L engine was a piece of shit. compared to the 2.4 before it and the 2.8 that came after.

3600 just buy a foxbody.

Buy a 280z they got it right with the 1977 and 1978 and they are considered to be the best and most finished of all the s30's

They are relatively inexpensive because of the crazy amount that got built and sold in the USA. That number is shirking because they rust away so easy
>>
Just try and find an s30 in Europe for less than $20,000

Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth?

Yeah, this.

They're really good, solid cars if they are maintained and rust free

if you like it buy it

>>
So I started looking for a 280z based on

recommendation.

This actually seems pretty legit compared to my op. Is there anyway to take off the rubber bumpers without replacing the entire front bumper though? They look hideous.
>>
Is the 240/260/280 the best /o/? Looking to restore one soon.

When looking for a car of that age your biggest concern is the body. Do research on known rust spots of S30s and then look for the best Chassis regardless of 240, 260, or 280z. Look outside of Florida too, I have a Z31 from Georgia, registration is cheap because of Antique tags so no need to worry about first time registration fees.

Not that dude but in this case 'economy sports' refers to a class of affordable sports cars that were popular in the 70s/80s and even into the 90s where lots of manufacturers were offering 'sports' cars (they had the looks if not the engine power) at a price the average person could afford; as opposed to most sports car offerings which tend to be from high end manufacturers are are priced prohibitively to your average joe.
