>start car cold
>idle revs unusually high, settles down after a minute or so
>Been doing this for a few weeks, no issues otherwise, no codes so can't fix
>start driving
>get to a light about 5 minutes after starting car, sitting in drive
>car stalls (auto trans btw)
>start it back up
>its ok
>shift into drive, wrench icon and check engine light, about to stall, engine is so rough feels like it's sputtering
>turn car off, engine light comes on (finally can get a code)
>Turn car back on and make it to work
I have to leave work and go home soon /o/. Watdo? Its fine until I shift into Drive.
Bad IAC, maf, egr valve, Pcv valve, what else can it be? I know it's not a fuel issue, and it doesn't feel like a torque converter issue either. Can idle all day in park, just higher than usual when cold.

You done fucked up anon.

Fucking crown vics supposed to be reliable

>Manual crown Vic
>Possible
When my car did that, it was a stuck EGR valve.
>>15626640
This is what I was thinking too. Hopefully I can make it home without it fucking up too much
>>15626631
nigga tremec swaps are common and easy. 96-2004 Mustang parts drop right in.
Might be a cylinder misfire.

>check engine light
What's the code?
>>15626562
When this happened to me I thought it was my TCS but it turned out a rat had ate hrough a vacuum line.
Don't know engine codes yet because my scanner isn't on me right now. Also why the fuck is an egr valve $130 for a crown Vic?
>>15626562
>idle revs unusually high, settles down after a minute or so
That's normal you stupid fuck
probably something vacuum related. egr, vacuum leak, etc.
>>15626600
Crown Vics definitely are but like any other car, they share weak points. The most common thing that shits out on them is the EGR valve and causes rough idle/spuddering/stalling but a very cheap fix and non-labor intensive. The other thing that's a bit more complicated is if you have a 95 and up, the intake is made out of plastic, known to crack and leak coolant and vacuum. Obviously scan the code first to be sure.

>Car is supposed to rev to 4000rpm after start and hold there for 2 minutes, then go back to normal
Kek

You didn't specify that noob
>>15631192
This actually is normal for my Subaru
