You could get a pristine E90/92 M3 for 30grand and have oodles left over for goodies. I wouldn't go any newer than that for a BMW, desu. The E90 is already pushing it pretty hard. As above, the E39/46 M5/M3 are god tier BMWs, but probably too old/bland for your tastes and pretty hard to find with low mileage now.

Coupe/Sedan/Roadster? The 4C exists and is a very unique look and raw drive that is auto only, but I'd just shoot for the best Boxster S/Cayman that you can find.
