Hey there /o/, I just bought a 2007 ford taurus.

>was a rental
>two owners
>always owned in the same town

What should I know about this car?
That's a car from 2007? Would have believed it if you said it was froim 1997.

Couple things that I ran into on my '03.
- The cam sync assembly can get funky. I changed mine out at 100K miles, and my fuel economy increased by .1 MPG average
- Oil. When the engine is low oil (for whatever reason) it'll run, but start bucking at ~3K RPM. Apparently this is a safety feature.
- Transmission. There's a pin in the transmission that tends to bend. I want to say Ford calls it the ALS or AWLS pin. When it goes, I'm told it's a transmission rebuild. Setting the parking brake instead of just leaving the car in park tends to relive stress on the pin.
I won't say that gen Taurus is a good car, but it's a fleet vehicle, so parts are available.

My gf has one of these, an '04.
Driving one of these things will make you appreciate pretty much any other car on the road because even a hint of personality is better than what driving this feels like. The Ford Taurus has gone up market in the past generation and is kind of a nice if unremarkable well appointed sedan. These things are like a fat kia spectra and will make you hate driving because the experience is just so fucking bland.

The important stuff is all pretty sturdy and problem free, but the interior is garbage, be prepared for just random bits and pieces to fall off and roll around on the floor. Repairs are cheap since these things are goddamn everywhere, and it has a comfortable-ish ride I guess.
Honestly this is the car equivalent of a bread sandwich.
