Is it possible to pass emissions with a crack in my main converter flange? Even if it passes the sniffer and obd test, will I automatically fail if they hear the huge leak? I simply cant afford a new $500 converter.

Sounds like you should be riding the bus fampai.

Plug the hole with two-component chemical metal
You will have to use an angle grinder to cut it apart afterwards though
Practice with the chemical metal on another surface first though, so you don't put it on too late or early, you can also get a tube of clay-like chemical metal that is easier to use and apply, but it has more the properties of clay instead of cement, so harder to get in a tight space for complete seal, better for actual holes
What would I have to cut apart later? The cat from the header?

I really don't know how thoroughly they inspect thit desu.
I've been clearing codes on every car that i've gotten tested, and once put gorilla tape over an upstream exhaust pipe that was leaking.
Also, would it be possible for someone to weld the cracks on the flange? Assuming its a pretty big one

What car do you have where a converter costs $500?
Like, even on German cars I know you can get them for sub $300.

It's probably an oem one. Or a CA rated aftermarket one.

2009 honda fit. No, I didn't buy this pos.
Move somewhere that isn't shit.
+1 to the epoxy, also, you never know 'till you try. What, do they fine you if you fail?

It is if you don't live in a fucking nanny state. To pass an inspection here, they check your blinkers and put a penny in your treads.
