I have a 91 MR2 with a BEAMS swap. Live in Asheville NC, I love driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in it. My favorite thing is the noise, it sounds so good. It can take corners much faster then I am comfortable with.

$5000. It was a 5FSE non turbo first. The swap was done by MR2 Guru, motor out of a Altezza with 40k miles. So far 9k miles on swap and going strong. Also has Megan suspension, a real CAI (not just a pod filter slapped on,) a unsprung clutch and larger fuel pump to feed the BEAMS. I've been looking at turbo Altezzas and they make a good looking turbo kit for the BEAMS, so ddpnt.listen to people who say you can't turbo it.

Look at the torque scaling, then compare to the horsepower scaling. The torque goes from 155Nm to 190Nm, while the power goes from 0kW to 100kW. Of course the power graph is gonna look fucked up when you have weird scaling like that.

Kind of hijacking this thread but does anyone have a list of common things to watch out for when purchasing an mk2 MR2 Turbo?

Guy wants 5.5k, replaced the turbo at 58k miles (Not sure what current miles are yet). Looks like he's the original owner and is an older dude so less chance of fucboi racing the car.

What's a good range to offer him based on the condition of the vehicle, assuming it isn't ruined?

other than that bee sure to check for the usual that you would a normal car. also ask for the service records of the turbo replacement if you can since that's your only real worry.

5k is well worth it for a clean turbo, I've had endless amounts of fun shitting on miatas
