That's the way it should be. NASCAR used to be like that but now they're entirely the same cars, the trick is up to the teams to set the suspension, aero, and tires.

Spec racing is great for club racers, oval tracks and wealthy guys but in big league sports car racing it would be pretty terrible. When's the last time anybody have a shit about a Ferrari challenge race?
