hey guise New Zealander here looking to buy first car. my budget is about 3k nz max is a mitsubishi fto GPX 1995 a reasonable car?
>>
here is link to the car im gonna look at http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/mitsubishi/auction-1119474075.htm
>>

Reasonable for the price, but the electrical gremlins that come with a 90s Mitsu will bite sooner or later.
>>
>>15431652
Is that something that can be fixed? I will have a bit of money to spend maintaining it but if it borks the car or costs an assload it won't be worth it. Im also gonna look at at 2.5k Toyota Cynos http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/toyota/auction-1120739857.htm but I'd rather the mitsu

Fellow kiwi here, bad idea mate you can get much nicer cars for that price, i bought my gf8 sti for 2500 its been reliable and fun, why do you want an fto?
>>

I've just been looking through the cars in my price range in welly and can't find all too much. also don't want huuge petrol bills. Though I'm still very new to this any advice is appreciated

I get around 11.5l/100kms at 12psi and 18l/100kms at 23psi but i thrash it, most of my mates either had a p10 or p11 primera or an n14 pulsar for their first car, the sr18 & sr20 motors are easy to maintain cheap to run and do have problems but if you keep them serviced they are good motors, v6 commodores are good on gas too, im a nissan/subaru fan myself
tldr; check out pulsars and primeras, or buy a skyline mate

Why are IDs even gone?
