Fucking amazing car for its price.

Literally my first delivery yesterday was at the Honda dealer. Almost every time I go there the employees ask me about my car even though it's poorfag as fuck. Though with how boring modern US Honda is it does stand out.

>>15415157
I didn't notice they kept the two tier dash for it. Good to see it's still around. I honestly loved it when I drove a 9th gen.

Welp, hybrid racing won't have k20z3 TCT's for another 2+ months. The operations manager there told me they were switching manufacturers. Was hoping to do cams and valvetrain next month, but that's toast unless I can find one from another vendor. Now I'm debating if I should just save for the kraftwerks kit instead. The thought of a supercharged vtec has always felt un-natural to me tho 2bh

Replaced the rtv shitfest that I put between my throttle body and intake manifold so the map sensor would read right but now the car idles up and down like crazy. Didn't do that before when it was running rich. Cleaned IACV. Relearned idle. Bled the coolant system.

Yeah, 62 is probably a little more comfy for a daily. The 70 rear can definitely be daily'd (my opinion), but it definitely throws some noticeable vibrations through the seat and steering wheel. Nothing that'll rattle your teeth out though.

Just checked Hasport's store and it looks like they're selling the torque mount by itself now. I've wanted it for a while, but they only sold it with the complete set which was like 500 bucks. $112 for the 70a I think I'll order Thursday heh

Nope and I don't trust myself messing with something important as a wheel bearing. Besides most of the work I've done on this car was suspension related and I'm tired of messing with it. Couldn't find any place to do it but I'll gladly pay Pep Boys the $40+tax to change it out for me.

they can be really bad. Not just like totaling your car, but I've heard of people losing legs/body parts from debris being hurled through the firewall and windshield

i read that small cracks in the flywheel that grow over time due to overheating like from a slipping clutch + high engine speed cause it. as long as you didnt have cracks should be good. if it was cracked im sorry to say that your flywheel is going to explode any second now at least you had a great run say hi to that sky nigger for me thanks

Leaning towards doing a k20/k24 frankenstein instead of the Kraftwerks kit. 2bh, an all motor build is worth way more street cred imo f@m. The SC would put up bigger numbers, but it would actually end up running me about a grand more and I'm not a fan of how it looks. That, and for some irrational reason, forced induction feels like cheating to me although I'll probably end up being a turbofag someday, probably at least a few years down the road

As far as I know, yeah. I think the clutch has been replaced at least once, it feels too nice to be the original. Bought it in late 2014 with 220,000 miles on it from the original owner.

It's like the jack of all trades car. I get average 25mpg in combined highway/city driving and it's just large enough to compete with the other SUV-driving commuters here, the pseudo-4WD isn't terrible in the snow, and there's a picnic table in the back in case an emergency beach BBQ breaks out.

Hello /o/

I may be purchasing a 1989 Honda CRX for the purposes of keeping it as a beater/daily.

My computer will not allow me to save pictures, so here's a link to the craigslist ad:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5676657277.html

Now, the photos he provides don't show the dents on both fenders or the front signal lights held on by tape/zip ties (both need to be replaced as well as the LH fender, RH might be salvageable)

The car drove pretty well. Whoever owned it before it's current installed some really shitty coil-over's and so the car bounces like hell, so that'll need fixing, it's got some upholstery issues, and oil leaks, but for the most part it ran fine on/off freeway.
I like it purely because it's CRX, what Honda man wouldn't, i just want a second opinion/ any tips regarding CRX issues that may arise.

The vehicle is at 130k miles.

hey so I noticed that my cars computer is throwing a couple of error codes when I was running a datalog:

P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0134 - O2 Sensor No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

no check engine lights on the dash. AFR's held exactly at 14.7:1 for the entire log which means the computer is defaulting to a lean/cruise ratio when these codes show up..I think. I'm stumped as to why no check engine light tho. On top of that, I replaced the primary O2 about a month and a half ago and the afr's were fine after that. I wonder if something got jacked up with the calibration when I switched intakes. I'll recalibrate the ecu, go for a few rips and see what it reads.

On a side note, if the other sensors are reading correctly, the cold air intake plus the intake manifold gasket has lowered IAT's by a number that people will probs scream bullshit at, so I'll wait and see what happens with a refreshed calibration

reset the calibration and that did the trick. AFR's nestled in around 12 up near the rev limiter. No gay ass codes popping up either. Pic related Made a virtual dyno with the 2nd gear pull I did. Top tier kek, it's official lads: 286 whp from a civic si with a cold meme intake and a fart blaster.

For some reason, the AFR is upside down, must have something to do with how the program imports the data log. Anyways, not leaning out according to the actual logs. And I'm not making anywhere near 286, maybe 210 in good conditions. Maybe a little more when the tune is finished

I am considering a 2003 Civic Si as a first car.

But I'm not sure if I should have a car that nice as my first.
Plus I dont want to become a bad driver use to modern convenience.
Things like ABS and power steering
also its is much heavier, made in europa , and theres no double wishbone, as well as having a mysterious K engine

Thoughts?

Hey /hg/ I might be buying a 1986 Honda prelude with a bad clutch tomorrow for only 400. It runs and seems ok, but I'm gonna do a full inspection to the best of my limited knowledge.

I know some about Hondas from owning/maintaining/delivering pizza with my 90 EF Hatch. Anything I should know bout the prelewd? I know its fuel injected but idk if its got the 1.8 or the 2.0. I hope its a hilariously undervalued SI desu

Basically what are common problems for 2nd gen prelewds if anyone knows

I highly doubt my airbag works anyway. The airbag bulb must have been yanked because I've driven the car with the airbag removed and nothing lit up.

The Pep Boys wheels look alright but I'm wanting to either go for pic related or the EDM EG wheel. Probably the quick release for muh security.

It doesn't turn on m8
it's chilling in the lot, I called the insurance, and "their insured" basically admitted fault so they're going to tow it to Honda and appraise it basically
i'd be VERY surprised if it isn't totaled, honestly
It was an old asian lady and her husband in a 2016 buick. Lady was driving. Caught a glimpse of the handicap sign on the rearview
getting a rental in the meantime they said, waiting on a call back
>>

>>
>>15441114

>>
>>15441324
Hope it can be saved. The damage looks minor so I bet something that keeps the car running disconnected.

I'd buy it back if they total it and use that money to fix it plus improve it.
>>
>>15441332
>>15441338
desu i'm waiting on the numbers
This is my first accident so i'm kind of at a loss for what to do; the insurance guy was tellnig me all about it, and how he tore up his old '02 civic kek
anyway, yeah he said if they say it's totaled, i could let them keep it and I'd get a bit extra, or if I kept it I'd get a little less.
Obviously I want to keep it, but I told him I would wait until I got the figures. If they keep the car for an extra hundred bucks then luhmao fuck you i'll take it, even if towing it back will be at my expense
But if they'll give me a couple of thousand (doubtful but for example) and they keep it desu i'll probably say goodbye
It was a good run for a year ;_;, tfw i just spent like 800 dollars for a new battery, alternator, and a/c.. i bought the fucking thing for 1300
>>
>>15441434
That's how much I paid for my hatch. I'm surprised nobody has totaled it yet. It did get extremely close once though. Would be dead if I didn't avoid that escalade that went straight for my driver door.

Anons, educate me.
I have B16A2 with non LSD tranny (Y21 I think), which I want to upgrade. What hondafags across the internet say is that any B series tranny will fit any B series engine. I was wondering about getting 4.4 FD B18C transmission since I've read that every gear has a dual synchro, pretty good ratios and LSD, but honestly I know shit about transmissions and mating it with engines.
So, will it fit? I'm dailying the car plus doing like 300 miles on a fast road once per 2 weeks. Do you recommend any other tranny for this purpose? The only requirement is a LSD.
>>
>>15441882
Yeah they'll fit. It's just highway gearing that may make you regret it.

But physically, they work.
>>
>>15441892
Any good LSD transmission for moderately comfortable highway driving?
>>
>>15441914
Not if you want a close ratio.

http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/temp/Bgears.htm

Some swap in the YS1's 5th gear
>>
>>15441876
yeah if it's running, but still mad old it's hard for me to think of what it'd be

I mean the car isn't worth anything, but doesn't honda way overprice their service? They'd have to order fender/bumper, and a light or two potentially. Not to mention the labor. I feel like that'd be expensive as shit, relative to the actual worth of the car
>>
>>15441958
It'd go to a shop, not a dealer. And parts may be from CHEYNA.
