>driving my car (RHD)
>decide to drive with left hand on wheel while playing imaginary gear shift with my right hand next to the door to see what LHD would be like
>need to make a turn
>have to use my imaginary shifting hand to put indicator on
>realise this is why the indicator stalk is on the left of the column of LHD cars, and on the right of the column in RHD cars
Shitty mass produced right and left hand drive cost cutting econoboxes don't count

That's something I figured out very quickly when learning to drive. As in, as soon as I had to use the indicators, I found them conveniently by the hand I had to use for shifting.
But then, I learned to drive with a good instructor, in a mid-spec Focus instead of some shitty tiny little econobox.

>indicator stalk is right of the column in RHD cars
But it's not? in the UK most indicators are on the left

Drove a Nissan Cedric and the indicator stalk was on the other side, turned on the wipers by mistake

Only car I've ever driven in the UK with the indicator stalk on the right was a mazda demio and I've no idea why as as far as I can see all other mazdas from around the same time had them on the left.
