sounds like either a vacuum leak or an issue with the EGR.
Cars generally idle like shit when the EGR stays open all the time.

Actually, now that I think about it the V6's have an external EGR tube that like to crack and cause a huge vacuum leak which results in a high idle since they're a Speed/Density system.
