I have a 600cc four, been riding a long time. I have a Triumph Bonneville too which is making nearly double stock hp and the four cylinder is easier to ride, easier to stop, easier to speed, easier to turn and safer in general. Most nobikes on /o/ would be saying 'ride the twin you'll die on a four', and those people would be wrong. What I'm trying to say is try each bike, some bikes you may find you genuinely can't ride as you don't have the confidence/control, some 'bad beginner bikes' you may find are a lot easier than you expect.

To be honest I do t think I'm qualified to give a review as I've only rode if from the dealership to my house and once to work and I still haven't played with the suspension yet because I'm just having too much fun with the power. The 250l was the only ever bike I've ever rode before this.

One thing I can say is the tires are pretty much legit dirt tires. I have a hard time trusting them on the rode on turns and they vibrate a lot at higer speeds on pavement. I think when they run down I'm going to get some similar to the tread on the 250l as I think those were just about perfect.

Yea it's just where I live having a street legal Dirtbike is extremely practical and I can make use of tons of off road shortcuts and have plenty places to ride. Having tires that limit me to pavement or straight dirt hold me back.

can still do light off roading with road tyres its just single tracks you cant get down, i even take my road bike out bush when i get bored sometimes.
id just want best of both worlds kinda thing, going the half/half tyres means you have fairly shitty on road grip and off road grip thats about as good as running a slick tyre.
Plus you can normally find a set of 17 inch rims fairly cheap and it only takes 15 minutes to swap them over before you go for a ride, that or its about a grand for a factory motard kit that comes with all the bits you need (rims, bigger caliper/disc, chain etc)

Well I live by mountains so when I turn off into a trail/shortcut to go somewhere it's usually not always "light off-roading" so it's good to not have smooth street tires but it's also good to not have straight up knobbys. They make pretty good in between tires for that specific purpose.
