Thinking about picking up a e36 326is and making an UTE, anyone else done this? i know two guys that have outside of Dallas, and another in OKC. Any alternatives?

E36 owner here. You might be better off getting a 5 series if you're planning on having a usable tray capacity. You'll also have to reinforce the rear of the car significantly since it's a unibody, which will eliminate a lot of the tray space. Be prepared to spend double or triple the cost of the car to end up with a noodle chassis with shit handling characteristics.
