Ok /o/. Let's play a hypothetical game.
I will give you a car and you have to explain how you would modify it to make a performance variant the factory could've made. This means no changing the drivetrain unless it's been proven capable of supporting it. So if a car was FWD and no variant of it was ever offered with anything else, RWD or AWD is out of the question.
You're also only allowed to use engines from engine families know to fit in that chassis with little to no modification.
Remember, the idea here is a performance variant the public actually would've bought.

Your first mission is a TRD version of the 1995-1999 Toyota Tercel.

what else?
An engine alone doesn't make a performance car.
>>
>>15215314

Transverse 4AGE and trans from an AW11
Stiffer struts+springs all around
Larger rear sway bar
Quicker steering rack
Reworked sportier body styling
Bolstered seats

EZ.
>>
>>15215387
Replace the 4AGE with the Starlet GT's 4E-FTE 1.3L Turbo and that's a good recipe. The Tercel is just a Starlet coupe/sedan anyways.

Swap the engine for the one from the Ford Focus SVT. Should drop right in.
rear disc conversion from a 91-96 Escort GT
struts/shocks from an Escort ZX2 S/R
>>
>>15215314
Sway bars, strut brace, better engine, 4 piston disc brakes in front, 2 in rear, stiffened chassis, bilsteins, no power steering, sparco seats, twin disc clutch, dual exhaust, spoiler, wider tires
>>
>>15215499
Shamefully there's only like 6 of those available
>>
>>15215709
we convert it to a RWD platform.
Really just re-pop the old Sierra/Murkur thing.
Install turbo charged duratec/zetec what ever the fuck.
Call it the ZX2 RS
Then make after a year a RS500 that spit out 500hp for shit n giggles.
>>
>>15215709
Isn't that on the same platform as the Mazda 323/Protege/Familia? If yes, 323 GTX or GTR drivetrain. AWD and a 1.8l turbo i4 with 185hp or 210hp, and potential for even more.
>>
>>15219697
can't do that. The Escort/Mazda 323 never offered RWD.
You COULD do AWD though.
>>
>>15219897
Sorry I can't follow rules.

Using GTX-GTR 323 box wouldn't do it any favor if trying to push some power. They found there limits on stock boost if driven hard.

So that leads me to go full retard, using that 3.4ltr v8 from the Taurus and find a manual transmission to handle it for a laugh.

>>

Jesus, how many Mazda engines did Suzuki use?
>>
>>15219996
enough.
>>
>>15219999
That's the one thing I don't get about Suzuki, Honda incorporates what it learns from motorcycle tech into its engines, Yamaha was contracted regularly by both Toyota, Volvo and Ford for cylinder head/engine designs, but fucking Suzuki never did this with their vehicles, I understand that they made reliable engines usually, but why in the fuck couldn't they make an engine that put out power like a Yamaha designed or Honda engine? It's like Suzuki was the perennial under-achiever when it came to auto engines

HOW TO MAKE TWINGO FAST ?????
>>
>>15220013
Good question, who know. But they did make some oddball performance cars tho. Early swift/cutlass that had a GTi version that was bit of goer.

Maybe they saw no sense to fight for market that already had so many options?
>>
>>15220039
Then why entire the auto market at all if you don't attempt to compete? It's a colossal waste of capital, another question is why didn't Kawasaki entire the auto world?
>>
>>15220046
>another question is why didn't Kawasaki entire the auto world?
I dunno. I'm still waiting for John Deere to pull a Lamborghini on us and start building sports cars.
>>
>>15220046
Well, they may not compete in performance class. But they do compete with the Vitara/Escudo/Jimmy in the small 4wd vehicle that is capable off road.

As for Kawasaki, they build boats and trains and other interest things so I can see why they don't do cars.

I know, it was meant jokingly.

Pic related, however, is pretty legit. Clio 172 engine swap.

You could also go for the 1.4T from the Renault 5(GT) Turbo.
